Years in the Making: The Idea Behind the Powwow App

My name is Cameron Logan, proud member of the Ho-Chunk Nation and founder of The Wow. This idea has been a passion project of mine since high school. Since then, a lot of work and research have gone into fine-tuning the idea and finding the tools and resources needed to bring that original vision to life.

Pursuing a STEM-MBA in Supply Chain Management and competing for a national championship at Adelphi University have helped give me the confidence and experience to turn that idea into something real. The goal is to positively impact our people by making powwows more enjoyable, the contest experience more transparent for dancers and singers, the process easier for committees and judges, and the entire event more accessible to those who want to follow along.

Having grown up around the circle, I understand the importance of continuing the traditions taught by our relatives before us. I've also seen how modern technology can affect younger generations—for better or worse. We aim for the better.

Built for organizers, dancers, drum groups, and those who simply love to powwow, The Wow provides tools to manage contests with clarity while maintaining respect for the arena.

The goal isn't to change powwows, but to build tools that support our ways of life.
